Given the immense popularity of the Festival, today saw films like the Chinese film Honeymoon, The Genie in a Tin of Raviolis, Little Heroes, Bonifac, The Tallest Story Competition among others.
There was Amulyam, Foto and Chittigadi Mahabharatam from the local filmmakers. Honeymoon and Invisible Wings, both from China were hot with viewers.
Honeymoon is about the relationship between a stepmother and how she wins over her stepson. It is both touching and hilarious at the same time and that's where the strength of the film lies.
We caught up with B A Nag, son of B Narsing Rao. A corporate guy, he made Journey, which was appreciated, though many thought some of the scenes did not fit into a Children's film.
We also chatted with Ramesh Prasad, the owner of Prasad's, who spoke about his experience at the 15th International Film Festival and how Prasad's would host many more in days to come.
Then there was Foto, which was all about the celluloid history and the technicalities of filmmaking. It has Naseeruddin Shah in the cast and that provided the star value to the film.
From Griffith's Birth of Nation to Battleship Potemkin to Alam Ara to the first film by Lumiere Brothers, the film has footage from the original films and that makes it a must watch for all film buffs. A little boy, Foto's journey from being an aimless kid to a filmmaker is inspiring too.
All in all, it was another day of crowded theatres and children enjoying international and national films.
