Composer Pritam, who is most known for his funky rhythmic tunes or the out and out rock compositions, has sprung a surprise.
In his soundtrack for Priyadarshan directed BHOOL BHULAIYAA, he has composed a number which is out and out Indian classical. Those who have seen the original of BHOOL BHULAIYAA would be aware about the fact that the story takes the viewer centuries back into the times of kings and their in-house dancers. For one such sequence in the film, this song 'Mere Dholna' has been created which has a classical base to it.
Rendered by Shreya Ghoshal, this 7 minutes track is completely uncharacteristic to the kind of music that one has heard of Pritam and brings on a different dimension altogether. 'Mere Dholna' is not the kind of number that holds much mass appeal due to it's classical flavor but should do well on screen since it has a kind of rhythm and arrangements that paves the way for an elaborate dance sequence.
