Yash Raj Films (YRF), in keeping with its strategy is in full swing with production of its forthcoming films:
1. Fanaa
This film, directed by Kunal Kohli (Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Hum Tum) has the most looked forward to pairing of Aamir Khan & Kajol. With music by Jatin-Lalit, this film was extensively shot at the YRF Studios.
Tentative Release: May 2006.
2. Kabul Express
An unusual film in an unusual genre by YRF! Shot extensively in Kabul, this film directed by Kabir Khan stars John Abraham & Arshad Warsi with a Pakistani actor Salman Shahid, an Afghani actor Humghum and an American actress Linda Arsenio in stellar roles. This topical film will make for a very interesting viewing by global viewers who have followed the happenings in Afghanistan over the years.
Tentative Release: September 2006.
3. Dhoom 2
The stupendous success of Dhoom has led YRF to make its sequel even bigger. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi (Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Dhoom) this film once again has Abhishek Bachchan & Uday Chopra in stellar leads with Bipasha Basu and for the first time, the sensational pairing of Hrithik Roshan & Aishwariya Rai. Pritam's music promises to be yet another chartbuster.
Tentative Release: May 2006.
Additionally, Shaad Ali (Saathiya, Bunty aur Babli), Siddharth Anand (Salaam Namaste) and Arjun Sablok (Neal 'n' Nikki) have already commenced work on their forthcoming projects which promise to be as exciting as their earlier triumphs.
Shimit Amin will direct his first film for YRF starring the ever popular Shah Rukh Khan.
Pradeep Sarkar, the director of Parineeta, has now embarked on his first film for YRF.
The Distribution Division of Yash Raj Films will also distribute the following two major films this year, among others:
1. Krrish
Directed by: Rakesh Roshan Starring: Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Rekha, Naseruddin Shah & others.
This film is a worthy addition to the earlier triumphs of the Filmkraft banner, 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' & 'Koi... Mil Gaya', both distributed by YRF.
Tentative Release: June 2006.
2. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna
Directed by: Karan Johar Starring: Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Kirron Kher & others.
One of the most awaited films of the year, 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' is Karan Johar's third directorial effort after 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' & 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', both distributed by YRF.
Tentative Release: August 2006.
