The stars have descended upon Earth – in particular, on Singapore. The SIIMA Awards 2016 was held in the picturesque city-state, and as expected, it was a star-studded affair worth remembering for years to come. Being conducted over a 2-day gala event, with Lakshmi Manchu and Ali hosting the first day with wit and charm. The ceremony saw the who’s who of the South Film Industry walk the red carpet, including Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Vedhika, Devi Sri Prasad, Hansika Motwani, Shruti Haasan, Rana Daggubati, Allu Sirish, Vikram, Nayanthara, Nithya Menen, Naga Chaitanya and many, many more.
The full list of awards for Telugu cinema have been announced by the organizers, with Baahubali: The Beginningi and Srimanthudu emerging as the big winners of the night with six awards each. Between them they also swept the big four awards, viz., Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress while Rudhramadevi also bagged two major awards – Best Actor and Actress in the Critics category.
