The great man of avatars being the producer, talented director, a philanthropist and equally a dedicated pious gentleman is V.B. Rajendra Prasad, who turns 77 today on 4th of November. Born in 1932, his utile life span of all these years has benefited his dependants and everyone around him.
His childhood days was not a bed of roses and so was his young times. A change in his life occurred when he met Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He struggled to make a mark as a hero in Chennai in the early 1958. Then later shifted to Andhra Pradesh and it was then his talents got staged for good.
Being a producer of about 34 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi a meager record of four flops in entirety, stand nowhere in his production path. He started directing movies from his first 'Dasara Bullodu' made under his production house Jagapathi Arts.
A fact that might evoke jeers in contemporary times but true is his first directed movie 'Dasara Bullodu' ran packed houses for the entire year of 365 days.
Rajendra Prasad's directorial step was carried forward in his path of family oriented entertainers starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Shoban Babu, Nagarjuna, Jagapathi Babu, Balakrishna and Krishnam Raju. His region was also expanded in other languages as he directed the evergreen thespians Sivaji Ganesan, Jitendra, Dharmendra, Sanjay Dutt in Tamil and Hindi.
The awards that honored him are innumerable including several National and Regional awards. In a motive to honor his contribution, the State Government bestowed him with the prestigious Raghupati Venkaiah award in 2003. He is one among the highly respected persona among the film fraternity.
Now the former filmmaker is the Committee President for the Temple Complex that consists of 11 Temples in the Daiva Sannidhanam temple. The array of temples situated at Film Nagar in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad was initiated by him and he renders his service to the further establishment of this spiritual place.
